| The inspiration for an exhibition featuring the work of New York City's not-for-profit workshops was to bring together not just the artwork, but also the artists that were working in local studio workshops.
Each of the four studios finally involved in organizing this exhibition had one or more artist members directly responsible for its success. The printmakers from The Art Students League were Steven Walker and Rick Pantell; at The Manhattan Graphics Center it was Diane Miller; The New School University and Parson's School of Design coordinators were Bill Phipps, Mohammed Khalil, and Jennifer Ale; and, on behalf of Robert Blackburn's Printmaking Workshop was Denise Kasof, assisted by Valerie Nolan and Gwen Williams. The Society acknowledges the contributions made by The Art Students League of New York to the exhibition for the use of their gallery space and support of their staff. Several individuals form the League including Stephanie Cassidy and Pam Koob deserve special notice for their assistance. More than 600 guests attended the artists' reception despite the sweltering heat, and nearly a thousand more people visited the show during the three-week exhibition.
