The New York Society of Etchers, in conjunction with the Black Church Print Studio in Dublin, Ireland, presented Contemporary Irish Prints in two separate venues during the month of November 2003. Both shows featured an exciting and exceptional collection of contemporary works on paper.
Participating Artists from Ireland included Kate Betts, Lucy Bradell, Cora Cummins, Janine Davidson, Gráinne Dowling, Mary Fitzgerald, Andrew Folan, Frank Kiely, Elaine Leader, Marie-Louise Martin, Fiona McDonald, Margaret McLoughlin, Louise Meade, Alison Pilkington, Piia Rossi, Vincent Sheridan, Rose Stapleton, Michael Timmins and Stephen Vaughan.
At the National Arts Club from the 3rd until the 14th; and, at Gallery of Graphic Art, Ltd., from the 8th through the 15th there were close to 40 different contemporary Irish prints on display. Dublins Black Church, as it is popularly known, is recognized internationally as one of the finest artist-run print makers studios in the world. The Black Church Studio is scheduled to present a collection of work organized by the New York Society of Etchers in their public gallery in Dublin during March 2004.
