| This major international group exhibition of prints was organized
by the renowned French studio Atelier 63. The show included the work of
some 90 artist printmakers from France, Canada and The United States. At the invitation of Atelier 63, The New York Society of
Etchers curated a collection of prints, based upon an agreed to set of
parameters for the event.
The New Yorkers who contributed work to this important
international showcase included:
Jennifer Ale, Judith Anderson, Ann Chernow,
Sylvie Germain-Covey, Eduardo Fausti, Robin Fish, Stephen A. Fredericks, Andy
Hoogenboom, Denise Kasof, Michael Krasowitz, Fred Mershimer, Steven Walker,
Gwen Williams, Tom White, Michiko Yoshida and Bruce Waldman.
A wide range of intaglio techniques combined
with a broad variety of subject matter and technical expertise defined the
American work. Representing Presse Papier of Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada
were printmakers:
Suzie Allen, Aline Beaudoin, Denis Charland, Louise
Courchesne, Alain Fleurent, Jean-Pierre Gaudreau, Mylène Gervais, Louise Hallé,
Eneida Hernandez, Guy Langevin, Jo Ann Lanneville, Elisabeth Mathieu, Louise
Lavoie Maheux, Christiane Ross, and Sean Rudman.
The Presse Papier Studio is an artist-run center dedicated to
contemporary printmaking, and was founded in 1979 to meet the creative necessities of a
group of young artists. Today, the studio continually evolves to match new
needs of its artist members. Presse
