The New York Society of Etchers is pleased to announce that it is hosting
the American Print Alliance’s September 11 Memorial Portfolio in New
York City upon the fifth anniversary of the attacks on the United States.
Local artists including Judith Anderson, Stephen A. Fredericks, Christian
Legros, Marjorie Miller and Tom White, contributed prints to the portfolio
on behalf of the New York Society of Etchers.
The
Etchers Society is a long-standing council member of the American
Print Alliance that is headquartered in Peachtree City, Georgia. The
Alliance began organizing the Memorial Portfolio in late 2001, and the show
— which contains some 450 original prints — has been traveling
around the country to different venues ever since.
VanDeb Editions, founded
by Marjorie van Dyke and Deborah Freedman, is located west midtown Manhattan
in the heart of what is now the city’s artist-printmaking center. Ms.
van Dyke and Freedman have graciously donated use of the gallery in their professional
etching studio for the two week exhibition.
